About The Game

How long can you last against relentless waves of enemies?

Ranaga is a vertically scrolling shooter with roguelike elements that plays on the NES!  Every wave of enemies is randomly generated and the waves get more challenging over time.  Defeated enemies may drop coins which are used to buy upgrades in the shop.  Build your loadout and power up to take on more challenging foes!

The game also features a post-game statistics screen, a high score table, and an attract mode for that classic arcade feeling!

Controls

• D-Pad: Move ship
• A button: Fire weapons
• B button: Hold to use Speed Booster (when purchased), Purchase shop items
• Start: Pause game
• Select: Not used

Technical Information

Ranaga was programmed in pure 6502 assembly using the ASM6 assembler.  This game uses no mapper (NROM).  It should run on basically anything that can play NES games, including emulators, flashcarts, FPGA systems, etc.

No generative AI was used in the development of Ranaga.
